NRA Employee Benefits


This package includes:

  • Medical Insurance:The NRA offers an Open Access plan, which is similar to a preferred provider option (PPO), for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Dental Insurance:The NRA offers indemnity dental insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Prescription Drug Program:The NRA offers prescription drug benefits to those and their dependents enrolled in the medical insurance plan through the NRA.
  • Vision Care:The NRA offers vision benefits to those and their dependents enrolled in the medical insurance plan through the NRA. Reimbursement for eye exams, eyeglasses, lenses, and contacts vary accordingly with plan provisions.
  • Health Care /Dependent Care Reimbursement Flexible Spending Account:A pre-tax spending account for reimbursement of eligible health care expenses and dependent care expenses.
  • Group Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance:The NRA provides group term life insurance coverage to include accidental death and dismemberment. The amount of life insurance coverage is equal to twice the staff member's annual salary.
  • Supplemental Life Insurance:NRA employees have the option to purchase additional life insurance equal to 1x annual salary. The cost of this coverage is based on your age and the amount of insurance you are purchasing. The cost is available on a pre-tax basis, through convenient payroll reduction.
  • Dependent Life Insurance:NRA employees have the option to purchase dependent life insurance. The maximum amount of dependent life insurance that may be purchased is $25,000 for a spouse and $2000 per dependent child to the age of 19. This coverage is available though convenient payroll deduction.
  • Short Term Disability Insurance:NRA provides each employee with short term disability income if they should become unable to work due to an illness or injury. Benefits include 70% of the employees weekly earnings for a total of 11 weeks provided all eligibility requirements are met.
  • Long Term Disability Insurance:The NRA provides a long term disability plan to ensure income protection for staff members who become totally disabled for longer than 90 days as a result of illness or injury. The plan pays 60% of a staff member's regular monthly salary, provided all eligibility requirements are met.
  • Travel Accident Insurance:The NRA provides $50,000 of accidental death or dismemberment insurance for staff members on business travel.
  • Annual Leave:Regular full-time NRA staff members accrue annual leave in their first year at the rate of 2.88 hours per pay period, up to 10 days per year. Unused, accrued leave may be carried forward into the next calendar year, up to a maximum of 225 hours.
  • Sick Leave:Regular full-time employees receive 75 hours of sick leave each January 1st. Employees starting with the NRA after January 1st, will accrue 2.88 hours of sick leave per pay period until the next January 1st. Accumulated, unused sick leave may be carried forward into the next calendar year, up to a maximum of 200 hours.
  • Holidays:The NRA currently recognizes ten paid holidays for all full-time employees:
  • Tuition Benefits:Available after one year of service.
  • Retirement Benefits:The NRA provides a 401(k) retirement benefit plan for staff members who have completed 90 days of service with the Association. Employees can contribute up to 100% of their annual salary on a pre-tax basis to the plan, subject to IRS maximum rules. There is an employer match available and is immediately 100% vested.
